"Do you, as members of Christ's Church, undertake the responsibility of assisting these parents in the Christian nurture of this child?"
We rejoice with the Allen family as Jennings Elizabeth Allen, infant daughter of Maddox and Jules Allen, will receive the Sacrament of Holy Baptism on Sunday, June 28, during our 11:00 a.m. morning worship service.
Holy Baptism is one of the two sacraments of the Christian faith — a visible sign of an inward grace, and a means by which God's love is made known and sealed in the life of a child. In the waters of baptism, Jennings is welcomed into the body of Christ and marked as God's own.
As a congregation, we do not simply witness this sacrament — we participate in it. When we answer the baptismal covenant question, we commit together to pray for Jennings, to surround her with a community of faith, and to nurture her in the knowledge and love of Jesus Christ.
Please keep Maddox, Jules, and little Jennings in your prayers as they prepare for this holy occasion. We look forward to welcoming her into the family of God together on June 28.
